Tonight is the longest night of the year (in the Southern hemisphere)
If you believed in goblins, then you’d leave a gold coin in the front yard (so they take the gold and pass by) and stay inside as tonight is the night goblins can cross from the Shadowlands and into our realm to steal and wreak havoc.
Most people will pass any damage done off as a storm, or some other mundane event safe in the knowledge that goblins don’t exist. They can’t exist.
Goblins are just a fairy tale…

I used to tell my children that a doors that slammed or creaked unexpectly was caused by a goblin. My son (who at the time was about three) asked how to get rid of them. Perfume and flowers, I used to say - they hate them. Now I realise a dollar coin would have been mythologically correct. Ah well. :P
Counting down the days until I get me hands on a copy of that book...
